Accordingly, needy people will receive important household necessities, such as blankets, mosquito-nets and water filters.
Hoa Binh was one of the worst affected provinces during the tropical depression in October. Via this program, it is hoped that the people in the locality, especially women, who are most affected by the lack of sanitary water as a consequence of the floods, would quickly stabilize their lives, said Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, CARE's acting Country Director in Vietnam.
According to official data from Hoa Binh province, the flood left 34 dead or missing and more than 3,100 households submerged by water. It also swept away 457 hectares of aquaculture resources and thousands of cattle, pigs and poultry perished.
