At the launching ceremony, the Standing Committee of the provincial Youth Union organization called on youths, agencies, enterprises, and community to join hands in dealing with plastic wastes. The program aimed to raise the public awareness of plastic wastes; change their behaviors and habits of using hard-to-decompose or single-use plastic bags; and encourage them to use eco-friendly, biodegradable, and reusable products.

The “Green Sunday” program also brought a chance for Youth Union members to uphold their roles and volunteer spirit in developing effective solutions to reduce plastic consumption, enhance the reuse and recycle of plastic wastes, thus contributing to reducing environmental pollution and protecting human health and ecosystems.

During the event, participants also signed a commitment to respond to the “anti-plastic waste” movement.

After the launching ceremony, a good number of Youth Union members and volunteers cleaned up and collected plastic wastes at Doi Duong beach.

This is a regular activity of Binh Thuan youth in response to the World Environment Day, the Vietnam Sea and Island Week, and the action month for the environment.
