Addressing the ceremony, Senior Colonel Phung Kim Lan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper, affirmed the significance of the tournament and the newspaper’s practical activities highlighting the beautiful tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” of the Vietnamese people and helping young generations learn more about the sacrifices of the former generations for the national construction and defense cause.

The same day, Senior Colonel Phung Kim Lan visited, inquired after, and presented gifts to the Japanese and Filipino cycling teams. Lan highly appreciated the efforts of participating foreign cyclists, affirming that their participation in the tournament has contributed to strengthening friendship between their countries and Vietnam. He wished the Japanese and Filipino cyclists better achievements in the next stages.
