Activities held in celebration of International Francophone Day
PANO – Various activities will be held across the country in March to mark the 2019 International Francophone Day, themed “Couleurs Francophones” (Francophone Colors), announced the International Organization of Francophonie’s (OIF) Asia Pacific Regional Bureau at a press conference on March 12 in Hanoi.
Accordingly, in Hanoi, activities will take place at the Ly Thai To Statue Square on March 15 and 16, with the participation of 1,000 French speakers and learners.
Similar ceremonies celebrating the International Francophone Day will also be organized in Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho and Hue cities late March.
According to Anne Lange, President of the Group of Francophone Embassies, Delegations, and Institutions in Vietnam (GADIF) said that with the slogan “Speaking French, please!” the event aims to send an open and modern message to 300 million French speakers around the world.
