This is a model of opening a bank account, installing the VietinBank iPay application and using QR codes for payment for retail businesses and small traders at markets managed by local authorities. Small traders and residents can buy and sell goods at these markets by scanning the QR code, or transferring money via the bank account number on the VietinBank iPay application in a quick and convenient manner.

According to Nguyen Thi Minh Thu, Secretary of the Nam Son Ward Youth Union Organization, in order to enhance the efficiency of the model, officials, Youth Union members and young people have promoted the vanguard and voluntary spirit of youths in taking the lead in using cashless payment services and widely spreading their benefits to local people.
Meanwhile, the Nam Son ward Youth Union Organization established a community digital technology team to carry out communications activities at local markets; instructed people to use QR codes for payment; and coordinated with bank staff to support people to open bank accounts and set QR codes for business households.
After a short time, the model was widely applied to most small traders in the markets. Through the application of digital payment platform, small traders, business owners and local people could purchase and sell all items at the market by scanning QR codes, or transferring money via phone number on the VietinBank iPay application.
At Nam Son market, Nam Son ward, after the model was launched, small traders expressed their satisfaction after using the cashless payment service. As a fruit and vegetable storekeeper, Nguyen Thi Tan from Nam Son ward shared that she has been in the business for more than ten years, and she started using QR codes a few months ago. She found that the new form of payment is simple, secure, convenient, minimizing risks and mistakes. Currently, most small traders at this market have installed electronic payments.
Apart from sellers, buyers also had practical and interesting experiences as going to the market without using cash. The implementation of the model has created opportunities for people and small traders in local markets to quickly adapt to changes in digital technology and use non-cash payment methods.
