The National Assembly Committee for External Relations will do its utmost to cement the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.
Tran Van Hang, head of the committee, made the commitment, at a reception in Vientiane on March 2, given by Lao PM Thongsinh Thammavong and NA Chairwoman Pany Zathotou.

He said the Vietnamese committee held a working session with its Lao counterpart, during which both sides agreed to work closely to prepare for a Vietnam-Laos legislative conference, an Asia-Europe Parliamentary Forum to be hosted by Laos, and a conference of the NA Committee for External Relations of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia slated for this year.
He said the two committees will strengthen cooperation in professional affairs and training, and cooperate closely in regional and international forums.
The Lao leaders welcomed Hang’s visit and briefed him on Laos’ preparations for the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012.
They highlighted the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam, which they said should be maintained and developed for future generations through the exchange of legislative delegations of the two countries.
