PANO – The Vietnam Women’s Union of Ho Chi Minh City in association with the municipal Association for Women Executives and Entrepreneurs (HAWEE) held a program titled “Walking for Women’s Advancement,” with the participation of 6,000 people on March 6th. The 3km walk took place around Phu My Hung compound in District 7.
Former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Binh, World Bank's Country Director for Vietnam Victoria Kwakwa and Dr. Biswarrop Roy Chowdhury, who has earned the reputation of holding the Guinness World Record of physical strength and brain, joined the event.
The organizers said the program, in the spirit of "Good health for building and protecting the country", aims to promote the sports movement for women in the city and transmit the message that “Women should overcome difficulties and affirm their position in all aspects of life”.
