Politburo’s inspection and supervision delegation works in Lai Chau
PANO – On March 21, in Lai Chau province, the Inspection and Supervision Delegation No.16 of the Politburo held a conference to review the draft report on the results of the first-round supervision in 2026 over the Standing Board of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee. General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense, head of the delegation, chaired the conference.

Established on February 23, 2026, the seven-member delegation supervises the Standing Board of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee regarding the implementation of the 14th National Party Congress Resolution, Directive No.01-CT/TW, and Directive No.46-CT/TW concerning the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils elections. The review also covers the two-tier local government model, measures to achieve 10% average GDP growth for 2026–2030, and Resolution No.57-NQ/TW on science, technology, and digital transformation.

General Phan Van Giang praised the province’s coordination and its serious efforts in disseminating the Resolution through tailored action programs. He requested that Lai Chau integrate socio-economic development with national defense and security tasks. Key priorities include innovating study methods via digital transformation and linking political tasks with performance evaluation.

The province was urged to resolutely implement the two-tier government model and propose central-level mechanisms to ensure double-digit growth. General Phan Van Giang also emphasized the role of the grassroots political system, including village elders and reputable individuals among ethnic minorities, to strengthen social consensus. Finally, he called for accelerated industrial development alongside stricter inspections to prevent violations in socio-economic programs, expressing confidence that the Standing Board will lead the province to successfully fulfill the Party's targets.
