Accordingly, in 2015, press agencies effectively reported national and international political, social, and economic situations. Press products vividly reflected important events of the nation, including the 85th founding anniversary of the Party, 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, 125th birthday of Uncle Ho, 70th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day, and Party congresses at grass-roots level towards the 12th National Party Congress. The press agencies have provided information relating to anti-corruption, the protection of national sovereignty over sea and islands, and the fight against the “Peace evolution” scheme of hostile forces, as well as effectively popularized Vietnam, its people, cultural identities, and achievements during the Doi moi (Renewal) period to international friends.

The representatives of press agencies also pointed out press agencies’ shortcomings in implementing their missions in 2015 and shared experiences to raise the quality and effectiveness in disseminating the Party building, the combat against wrongful ideas, as well as the role and importance of press in orienting and shaping public opinion. They suggested promoting training to raise political stance, professionalism, and ethics for reporters.

Speaking at the event, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Dinh The Huynh asked press agencies and reporters nationwide to promote glorious tradition of the Vietnam revolutionary press to effectively disseminate the 12th National Press Congress, socio-economic tasks, the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam National Assembly, and the coming general election.

At the conference, the Central Commission for Information and Education presented certificates of merits to 22 columns on newspapers, radio, and television programs of different press agencies. The column, “Foiling “Peace evolution” scheme” of the People’s Army Newspaper was among the honored.
