The President praised efforts made by local farmers in applying high technologies to increase productivity, urging them to regularly exchange information for mutual development, especially after the ASEAN Community is officially formed.
As one of the largest vegetable cultivation areas nationwide, Don Duong is the first district in the Central Highlands recognised as a new-style rural area and one of the first 10 districts nationwide to earn the status.
Visiting Rung Hoa Da Lat Company, one of Lam Dong’s two largest flower exporters, in Da Lat city, the State leader suggested the company import and cross-breed new varieties to increase their commercial values.
Lam Dong currently has more than 43,000ha of land for hi-tech farming, or 16.4 percent of the total cultivation area.
The farm produce export accounts for 80 percent of the province’s total.
