Previously, at the meeting on July 16, the Politburo decided to appoint Bui Thi Minh Hoai, a Politburo member, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee and head of the PCC's Commission for Mass Mobilization, as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

At the same time, the Politburo assigned Thang with the task of directing the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization until the head of this body is appointed in accordance with regulations.
