In 2023, Vietnam’s external affairs saw significant achievements. Meanwhile, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and people’s organizations implemented a number of people-to-people exchanges, including major and meaningful activities. The people-to-people diplomacy work made active contribution to promoting socio-economic development, protecting national interests, popularizing the country’s image and the Party and State’s guidelines and policies to international friends, and bringing overseas Vietnamese closer to the homeland, among others.

Speaking at the conference, Trung applauded collectives and individuals for their contribution to the implementation of the people-to-people diplomacy in 2023. Regarding opportunities, challenges and requirements for the work in the time to come, he called for the VFF and people’s organizations to continue to grasp the implementation of the policies and guidelines of the 13th National Party Congress, as well as tasks assigned by the Secretariat.

In particular, the organizations should focus on research work and strategic recommendations on external affairs while building up plans to promote their partnerships, constantly innovating their operational methods, boosting communications activities, as well as enhancing the quality of human resources, to name but a few.
