PANO – The awarding ceremony of the National Press Award for External Information Service in 2015 was held on May 28th. The event was jointly organized by the Central Commission for Information and Education and the Steering Committee for External Information Service.

In the 2015 award, the organizing panel received 737 entries, a 43 percent increase compared to 2014, including 319 entries in the category of print newspaper, 158 in the category of online newspaper, 56 in radio, 103 in television and 68 in press photo.

After two rounds of evaluation, the panel selected 70 works for 6 first, 13 second, 18 third and 33 consolation prizes in five categories, namely print newspaper, online newspaper, radio, television, and press photo.

At the awarding ceremony, several foreign reporters, who made large contributions to Vietnam's external information work over the past year, were also honored.

Addressing the ceremony, Head of the Central Commission for Information and Education Dinh The Huynh stressed the important role of external information service. He required that agencies and individuals working in the field sharpen their capacity and innovate methods to better fulfill this mission assigned by the Party and State.

This mission will help Vietnam better integrate into the international community and maintain peace and stability.
