The 10th National Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology kicked off in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau on August 15 to discuss orientations for the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes in Vietnam.

The two-day event is being jointly held by the Vietnam Atomic Energy Society, the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VAEI) and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial Department of Science and Technology.

Taking part in the event are more than 300 domestic and foreign delegates, who are researchers and managers from several atomic power groups of Japan, the Republic of Korea and France.

The delegates will take the occasion to exchange research outcomes and increase cooperation, thus promoting the application of nuclear science and technology in Vietnam, in line with the country’s the strategy of nuclear energy application for peaceful purpose to 2020.

More than 270 reports are expected to be announced at the conference.
