NA Chairwoman attends great national unity festival in Nghe An
National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan joined residents in Sen 3 hamlet, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Central Nghe An province, at the great national unity festival on November 19.
The festival is the annual event held
nationwide to mark the founding anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front
(VFF) (November 18, 1930).

Kim Lien commune, the hometown of late
President Ho Chi Minh, has been considered as a revolutionary cradle and a
cultural and spiritual tourism destination.
Poverty rate in Sen 3 hamlet, which is home
to 126 households, stands at 3.28 percent, and locals’ material and spiritual
life have been improved significantly.
Speaking at the event, the top legislator
urged local officials and people to strengthen solidarity in building new-style
rural and civilized urban areas, while joining movements and patriotic
campaigns launched by the VFF.
She expressed her hope for more outstanding
socio-economic development models in the locality and greater efforts in
ensuring local security and safety as well as social welfare.
On this occasion, NA Chairwoman Ngan
presented officials and people of Sen 3 hamlet with a photo of “Uncle Ho and
Uncle Ton” and items of sports equipment. Ten saving books, each worth VND 10
million (USD 440), were also handed over to ten needy families and a number of
gifts were given to policy beneficiary families, prominent teachers and poor
students in the hamlet.
Earlier, the chief legislator paid floral
tribute and offered incense to late President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien
relict site in Nam Dan district.
The same day, NA Chairwoman Ngan visited
Phan Boi Chau Gifted High School.
