Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao presented a merit certificate of the committee for three individuals of St Paul Hospital

PANO - With updated technical knowledge in kidney transplantation from Military Hospital 103, St Paul General Hospital has succeeded in 9 such transplantation cases, said the hospital’s director Nguyen Dinh Hung at the ceremony marking the technical transfer on October 27th in Hanoi.

According to Hung, December 28th, 2013 saw the first kidney transplantation performed by the hospital under the enthusiastic support of Military Hospital 103’s staff. That success turned the hospital into the 13th unit in the country and the first Hanoi-based establishment to successfully implement the kidney transplantation technique.

Addressing the ceremony, Doctor, Major General Hoang Manh An, Director of Military Hospital 103, emphasized the hospital’s honour of helping develop the kidney transplantation technique at St Paul Hospital. “It is rare for a hospital in Vietnam to successfully perform nine kidney transplantations in a year. We will be side by side with our colleagues in the next period of mastering the technique”, An added.

On the occasion, Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao presented a merit certificate of the committee for three individuals of St Paul Hospital. Meanwhile, a representative from the Ministry of Health handed over the ministry’s merit certificate to outstanding individuals of the two hospitals.
