Ho Chi Minh City held a dialogue to develop a sustainable relationship between the Government, businesses and universities on February 20.

The dialogue was attended by nearly 100 young scientists from Vietnam and the UK, kicking off a programme called “Connecting young scientists”, an initiative of the British Council to connect young scientists across the world.

The participants discussed measures to strengthen relations between the Government, businesses, universities and institutes, and talked about the contribution to national development, the role of business and intellectual property.

The programme aims to provide key tools for young Vietnamese scientists to seek financial assistance for their research, and to strengthen international cooperation as an essential activity of the global knowledge economy.

The programme selected the Da Nang University of Technology and Leeds University in the UK to partner in telecoms research in Vietnam, while the UK’s Aston University and HCM City’s Biotechnology Centre will work on developing various vaccines.
