Hanoi builds more overpasses to ease traffic congestion

The Hanoi Department of Transport and the joint venture Bridge 12 Co. Ltd.-COMA, on May 11th, started the construction of a flyover bridge at the intersection of Le Van Luong and Lang Streets.

The bridge, with nine 2m diameter bored supports, 9m in width and 315.1m in length, is scheduled to be put into operation by October 10th to welcome the 58th anniversary of the Hanoi Liberation’s Day.

It is the fifth light overpass to deal with the City’s bad traffic jams.

Previously, the City Department of Transport started building other flyovers at intersections of Lang Ha-Thai Ha, Thai Ha-Tay Son, Nam Hong (on Mai Dich Street)-Noi Bai, and Nguyen Chi Thanh-Lang. Of which, two on Lang Ha-Thai Ha and Thai Ha-Tay Son were put into operation on April 26th, contributing to curbing traffic congestion and were highly valued by local people.
