The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) continued the 4th day of its 10th meeting on January 8 discussing a draft report on the realisation of socio-economic development tasks between 2011 and 2015.

It also deliberated socio-economic development orientations and missions for the 2016-2020 period which will be submitted to the 12th National Party Congress in early 2016.

During the 10th meeting, which will run through January 12, the Committee will discuss and approve draft documents to be submitted to the 12th Congress. The documents will then be sent to Party congresses at different levels for feedback.

Several reports and projects will also be tabled for recommendations before being submitted to the Politburo.

A vote of confidence on members of the Central Committee’s Politburo and Secretariat will be conducted.

The meeting is scheduled to elect additional members for the Central Committee’s Inspection Commission and handle complaints on violations of Party rules and some other important issues.

On January 6, the Committee voted to introduce additional candidates to the Politburo and Secretariat for the 2016-2021 tenure.
