The gift, worth more than VND 823 million, comprised money and goods in support of the home country in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
In particular, the Vietnamese Buddhist Cultural Center in RoK donated 50,000 face masks and other necessities with a total value of over VND 650 million.

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Macau (China) and Freising (Germany) contributed VND 86,1 million and VND 83 million, respectively.
The donation is part of the activities in response to the appeal and campaign on COVID-19 prevention and control launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.
At the hand-over ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, highly valued the efforts and contribution made by the Vietnamese expats in the fight against COVID-19 at home.

Speaking at the event, Buddhist nun Thich Nu Gioi Tanh, Director of the Vietnamese Buddhist Cultural Center in the RoK, said that over the past time, the center has conducted a lot of practical activities to support the COVID-19 battle in the homeland and help flood victims in the Central region.
For his part, Tran Ngoc Thanh, a representative of the Vietnamese community in Freising, underlined that despite living far from Vietnam, over 200 Vietnamese households in Freising have always turned their hearts to the home country, hoping that the gift would ease part of the difficulties of Vietnam in COVID-19 prevention and control.
