Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Vinh presents gifts to workers working at Raffinerie d’Alger construction site.

In particular, on February 5 (the fifth day of the first lunar month), Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Vinh visited and extended New Year wishes to Vietnamese workers at a construction site in the outskirts of Algiers capital city.

These workers are waiting for essential paperwork to return home as their employment contracts have expired.

During the visit, the ambassador shared with Vietnamese workers’ difficulties and hardships and conveyed best wishes to them and their families. He hoped that they will stay healthy and try their best to overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The diplomat also briefed the Vietnamese workers on steps to deal with procedures-related issues and promised that the Vietnam Embassy in Algeria will continue supporting and creating favorable condition for Vietnamese workers to work in the country or return home as their wish.  

Earlier on February 4, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Vinh visited the family of Ali Khizane whose mother is Vietnamese woman.

During the visit, the ambassador extended best New Year wishes to his family members and hoped that he will continue popularizing cultural features of the Vietnamese people to his children and grandchildren.

Vinh also inquired after overseas Vietnamese’s health and their living situation and encouraged them to turn to the home-country.
