According to official statistics, around 4 million overseas Vietnamese are living and working in some 100 countries and territories worldwide. The annual program to welcome overseas Vietnamese home to enjoy the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, the festival for family reunion in Vietnam, has become an important event, demonstrating the Vietnamese Party and State’ care for Vietnamese expats.
Accordingly, OVs will join various activities, such as a flower festival at Thang Long Citadel, visits to handcraft villages in Hanoi, an incense offering ceremony, and carp releasing event. The key event of the program is a special artistic exchange scheduled to take place at 8p.m at the Lenin Park on Dien Bien Phu Street and broadcast live on Vietnam Television Channels 1 and 4.
OVs could register to join the event at 32 Ba Trieu Street, Hoang Kiem district, Hanoi or through telephone number (84-4) 38244400, email address xuanquehuong2016@gmail.com, at Vietnam’s representative offices in foreign countries, the departments for external affairs, Ho Chi Minh City’s committee for overseas Vietnamese, and the liaison boards of Vietnamese residents in foreign countries.
