OVs in Russia present vehicles to Vietnam’s search and rescue force
PANO - The Vietnamese Association in Russia raised funds to buy three UAZ Hunter Expedition terrain vehicles to present to the Department of Search and Rescue under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army via the Russia-Vietnam Cooperation Support Fund of "Traditions and Friendship."
The vehicles were handed over to the unit at a ceremony on August 11.

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Pham Hai Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Search and Rescue, thanked the Vietnamese Association in Russia and the "Traditions and Friendship" Fund for the support to Vietnamese troops, who are majoring in search and rescue missions.

He said that the gifts display the sentiment of the association’s members towards the country and the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

Mrs. Pham Thanh Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the Vietnamese Association in Russia stressed that the Vietnamese search and rescue forces, especially the troops of the Department of Search and Rescue, have always done their utmost to help disaster-hit people overcome hardships and stabilize their life. The Vietnamese Association in Russia hoped the special gifts will contribute to improving the forces’ task performance in the coming time, she added.
