More Vietnamese citizens return home from abroad
More than 350 Vietnamese citizens were brought home from the US and Japan in a repatriation flight conducted by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on October 30.
On the same day, another flight of the carrier repatriated nearly 350 citizens from Russia.
These flights were arranged by relevant agencies of Vietnam and the three foreign countries, and Vietnam Airlines.
The passengers include children aged below 18, the elderly, pregnant women, labourers with expired contracts, students without residences due to dormitory shutdown and other especially disadvantaged cases.
In-flight safety and preventive measures against COVID-19 were rigorously enforced to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease.
All passengers and crew members received medical checkups and were sent to quarantine in line with regulations upon arrival.
The repatriation of Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad will continue to be conducted in line with citizens’ wishes, the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity in Vietnam.
