Ho Chi Minh City hosts Tet celebration for Overseas Vietnamese
PANO - Ho Chi Minh City’s authorities on February 6 held a get-together to celebrate the upcoming traditional New Year (Tet) festival for about 800 Overseas Vietnamese returning home from countries and territories.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong extended Tet wishes to and informed the delegates of the achievements of the city in 2018. The valuable contribution of overseas compatriots have had its part in the successful implementation of socio-economic tasks of the city, he added.
On the occasion, the city honored 5 collectives and 13 individuals for their excellent contribution to the city’s growth in 2017.
A photo exhibition was also launched to showcase hundreds of photos featuring the development of the city as well as the contributions of the Overseas Vietnamese community.
