During a meeting with Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders on June 1, Robert Kaliňák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Slovak Republic, valued great efforts of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia to boost the country’s economy, contributing to enhancing the bilateral friendship. He hoped that the relationship between the two countries would be tightened via specific cooperation programs in economy, culture and tourism, he added.

At the meeting, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee agreed that the bilateral friendship has gained much advancement over the past time. He expressed his hope to welcome more Slovakia enterprises to invest in Vietnam. Accordingly, he hoped that the Slovak Government would create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in the country.
