Addressing the event, General Chien affirmed that in 2020, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command, known as Mission 969, and the entire staff of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum united and exerted their utmost efforts to safely preserve President Ho Chi Minh's body. In addition, Mission 969 and the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum also made recommendations for the Prime Minister, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense to adjust the schedule for tribute services for President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers to ensure safety for visitors amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic.

General Chien also highlighted the sound leadership of Mission 969’s Party Committee and leaders of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum over the successful organization of Party congresses at all levels and the tenth Party Congress of Mission 969’s Party Organization.

After praising units’ efforts and achievements over the past time, the Deputy Defense Minister asked them to continue giving advice for the Party, State, the Prime Minister, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense to safely protect President Ho Chi Minh’s body. They were also urged to foster cooperation with other relevant agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to contribute their recommendations to amending Decree 18/2018/NĐ-CP regulating missions and organization of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

General Chien also requested Mission 969 and the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to submit a proposal on a President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Ordinance to the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, Party, and State for approval. They should also develop a project to effectively disseminate Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum-related information in the current period and complete a dossier on the K9 Historical Relic Site and submit it to higher levels for recognition as a national relic site. 

Together with ensuring security at the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, protecting President Ho Chi Minh’s body and other related projects, the units should coordinate with other forces to ensure absolute safety for troops and domestic and foreign visitors who pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers and visit the K9 Historical Relic Site and Ba Dinh Square amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the event, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien handed over the first-class Labor Order to the Management Board of Ba Dinh Square. Leaders of the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum presented certificates of merit to groups and individuals with significant achievements in 2020. 

On the occasion, the Management Board of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum launched an emulation movement to promote solidarity, discipline, creativity, and aspiration for development in 2021.
