The scientific seminar is among activities in celebration of 50 years of liberation of Quang Tri (May 1, 1972 - 2022), 50th anniversary of the 81-day-and-night combat to protect Quang Tri ancient citadel, and 50 years of the construction, renovation, and development of Quang Tri province.

Addressing the conference, Senior Colonel Duong Hong Anh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Military History, said that the seminar aims to clarify and make clear the guideline of the Party Central Committee and the Central Military Commission on opening the Tri-Thien Offensive Operation, combating to defend Quang Tri ancient citadel in 81 days and nights, contributing to the victory of the Strategic Offensive in 1972, and the victory in Spring 1975 liberating the South and reunifying the country.

Over 100 reports and presentations of leaders of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, the General Department of Political Affairs, and other agencies and units inside and outside the military have been submitted to the organizing panel.

As scheduled, the scientific seminar will take place on April 29, 2022 via an online format, at Dong Truong Son Hotel, Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province, connecting 15 localities.

On the sidelines of the seminar, delegates will offer incense at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel – the special national relic site, and present gifts to policy families in the locality.
