Party General Secretary To Lam (the 4th from the right) presents the first-class Labor Order - the noble honor of the State - to the Party Organization, authorities, and people of Phuoc Long township |
The Party leader underlined the significance of the event, stating that the Phuoc Long victory demonstrated the Party's sound leadership through its accurate assessment of the situation, effective utilization of opportunities, and wise decision-making.
It also highlighted the bravery and resilience of the main forces of the Army Corps 4, as well as the local troops and militia, he said, stressing that it was the triumph achieved after 20 years of relentless struggle by the armed forces and people of Binh Phuoc, especially workers of rubber plantations, ethnic minority communities, and those of the working class.
The victory held immense significance as it paved the way for a strategic supply corridor and provided a solid foothold for mobile main forces to advance toward the liberation of Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), he said, noting that it served as a "strategic reconnaissance blow" to assess the reaction of the puppet forces and the potential for re-intervention of the US, thus helping the Politburo strengthen its resolve and finalize its plan for liberating the South.
Lam emphasized that the victory provided valuable lessons on the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV); the solidarity between the army and the people; the seamless coordination among the armed forces, local forces and militia; and the importance of military logistics and support for combat operations.
The Party leader hailed tremendous efforts made by the provincial Paty Committee, authorities, and people over the last five decades to gain comprehensive results across all fields, saying that the political stability and ensured defense-security and social order offer crucial foundations for Binh Phuoc to become an industrial-oriented province by 2030 characterized by modernity, efficiency, and sustainability, positioning itself as an “attractive destination” in the southeast region.
The Phuoc Long victory remains an eternal epic, a source of encouragement, and a great lesson in harnessing the strength of the great national unity, he continued.
Lam expressed his hope that the Party Committee, authorities, military, and people of Binh Phuoc will continue to uphold their revolutionary tradition, resiliently overcome challenges, fully leverage their potential and strengths, and mobilize all available resources to build Binh Phuoc into a locality with political stability, economic prosperity, strong national defense and security, and progressive development towards a civilization nd modernity.
On the occasion, the Party leader presented the first-class Labor Order - the noble honor of the State - to the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Phuoc Long township, in recognition of its outstanding achievements over the past decades.
Earlier the same day, the Party chief offered flowers and incense in tribute to revolutionary soldiers who laid down their lives at Ba Ra mountain, and at the memorial site for martyrs and victims at Bang Lang Hill in Phuoc Long town.
