The same day, the Binh Thuan provincial Youth Organization, in collaboration with the provincial department of Natural Resources and Environment, kicked off a campaign on cleaning up beaches and protecting the environment prior to the Vietnam Sea and Islands Week and the World Ocean Day which falls on June 5.

The campaign attracted the participation of a large number of officers, soldiers, youths, and locals who cleaned up roads, collected rubbish, cleared bushes, dredged canals, repaired relics and war cemeteries, planted and took care of trees.

At the event, the organizing panel presented 100 national flags to fishermen and ten trash bins to Tuy Phong district of Binh Thuan province. Right after the opening ceremony, delegates, officers, soldiers, youths, and local residents planted more than 1,500 trees and cleaned up beaches, roads, and residential areas.
