On December 18, the Quang Nam Provincial Military Command in association with the local branch of the Military-run Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) and the provincial Red Cross Society organized a charity program for revolutionary contributors and needy households in Dac Toi commune, Nam Giang district. The organizers handed over 30 gifts, worth VND 500,000 each, and a breeding cow, worth VND 12 million, to the local beneficiaries while donating VND 35 million to repair a house for a needy household.

* The same day, the Military Region 2 (MR 2) Command held a gathering for its former senior officers in commemoration of VPA’s 75th founding anniversary and the 30th anniversary of the Whole-People Defense Festive Day (December 22, 1944/ December 22, 2019).

At the event, MR 2’s Political Commissar Major General Trinh Van Quyet recalled the significant contributions from generations of former senior officers to the national construction and defense cause. He underlined that the former officers’ contributions would encourage local armed forces to continue building a firm military region and fulfilling all missions assigned by the Party, State and people.

* On December 17 and 18, the headquarters of the Border Guard Command held sports competitions and art exchanges among its organs and friendly units in Hanoi. Nearly 200 athletes from nine teams have competed in a number of sports events and folk games such as football, 100 meter run, tug of war, and so on. These activities are expected to improve physical health for the border troops while building solidarity among participating units.

* The Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command launched the “Military joins hands for the needy” program on December 18 in Luc Hon commune of Ba Che district. The program was organized in the three communes of Luc Hon, Dong Tam, and Dong Van of Binh Lieu District and the two communes of Don Dac and Thanh Son of Ba Che district.

During the program, participants implemented information dissemination related to the Party’ guidelines and the State’s policies on socio-economic development, defense-security, traditional history of the Vietnam People’s Army and the local armed forces, to name but a few.

On this occasion, the organizers handed over 150 gifts, worth VND 75 million in total, to policy beneficiaries while providing health check-ups and free medicine, worth VND 300 million for 1,500 needy households in the localities.
