Health check-ups given to Cambodians in Kampot province

Recently, troops from the Phu My Border Post under the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard have presented gifts to poor students in An Co Ray commune, Kampong Trach district. The post also provides three of them with VND 500,000 per month each, rice, books and notebooks.

According to Colonel Do Van Hoang, the post’s political commissar, besides students, the post has annually inquired after Cambodian people, given financial assistance to families in need to breed cattle, contributing to local poverty reduction. In reply, local people have always supported the two countries’ armed forces to complete their missions of defending national border sovereignty and security.

Together with the Phu My Border Post, two other border posts namely Vinh Dieu and Ha Tien International Border Gate have also sponsored three students in the Cambodian border locality.

Moreover, border guards in Kien Giang province have provided free health-checkups, medicines and gifts for disadvantaged people in Kampong Trach district’s Xay Soc Dong border commune which houses over 110 poor households. The commune residents have often gone to Vietnam for health treatment.

Expressing her pleasure at the support of Kien Giang provincial Border Guard, Deputy-Chairwoman of Kampot province You Sokun said that it is a meaningful present to poor Cambodians and vividly manifests the close ties and solidarity between the two countries’ authorities, people and armed forces.
