Under the theme of “The two militaries join hands for people’s health,” the program was held in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the foundation day of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors in Laos and to pay tribute to the local authorities and people, who supported the two militaries during the revolutionary wars for national liberation of the two countries. Also, it is expected to provide an opportunity for the two military medical forces to share professional experience and knowledge.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Cuong, Deputy Political Commissar of the General Department of Logistics of the Vietnam People’s Army and head of the Vietnamese delegation, said that the Vietnamese side has mobilized 100 medical personel to provide health checkups and free medicines for ethnic minority people in the districts of Muang Muay, Muang Khoua and Samphanh in Phongsaly province.
During the four-day program, the delegation will provide healthcare services for around 10,000 locals at an estimated cost of hundreds of millions of VND.
