Earlier, at around 10 a.m. on December 24, while fishing 120 nautical miles Northwest of Truong Sa Island, Nguyen Sang, a 51-year-old resident of Tam Quang Nam Ward, Hoai Nhon Town, Binh Dinh Province, experienced severe abdominal and right iliac fossa pain. He was transported by fishing vessel BD 98683 TS to the Truong Sa Island Infirmary and arrived at 9:30 a.m. on December 27.

The infirmary conducted an medical examination and held an online consultation with Military Hospital 175. The diagnosis confirmed acute appendicitis at the 72nd hour, and emergency surgery was recommended. After more than an hour of surgery, the patient’s condition was temporarily stabilized.
