Troubled trawler rescued at sea
PANO – On December 28, the border guard of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, successful towed troubled trawler BTh 98442 with ten fishermen on board ashore.
Previously, fishing boat BTh 98442, captained by Tran Van Viet, born in 1967 from Ward 2, Vung Tau City, with ten fishermen on board went adrift due to the engine failure while fishing about 20 nautical miles East South of Vung Tau beach.

Upon receiving the mayday signal, the Ba Ria – Vung Tau provincial military command immediately sent ship BP 13-19-01 for the rescue mission.
Due to the bad weather, until 1:00am, the ship could approach the fishing boat and safely towed the troubled trawler with ten fishermen on board ashore, The rescued fishermen were also provided with food while repairing their trawler.
*On December 30, the Con Dao Border Guard received fishing boat BV 96888 TS with 5 fishermen that successfully saved by ship SAR 413 of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Region II.
Earlier, the trawler BV 96888 TS, captained by Vo Huu Loc from Vung Tau City went adrift due to engine failure while fishing in Tu Chinh zone of the DK1 Platform’s area.
After receiving mayday signals, Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Region II immediately mobilized ship 413 for rescue mission.
At 3:00 am on December 12, the ship 413 approached the trawler and took it with 5 fishermen safety ashore.
The Con Dao Border Guard provided first aid to fishermen after receiving the trawler.
