Troops help put out cajuput forest fire
PANO - More than 50 troops extinguished a cajuput forest fire in Tan Khanh village, Tan Khanh Hoa commune, Giang Thanh district, Kien Giang province, said the representative of Infantry Regiment 893 under the Military Command of Kien Giang province on March 2.
Occurring at 15:30 on March 1, the blaze broke out quickly due to the dry weather and strong winds.

Upon receiving the information, Battalion 519 of Infantry Regiment 893 under the command sent troops from Company 6 stationed in the locality to cooperate with other local forces and people to put out the fire.
At the scene, the troops created firebreaks to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas. With high sense of responsibility and all-out efforts, the joint forces successfully got the fire under control.
The fire burned down more than 10 hectares of the cajuput forest.
