Troops help stamp out forest fires

Fire breaks out in Tan Lieu commune.

The blaze occurred on December 7 in Tan Lieu commune and then quickly spread to neighboring Nham Son commune and Neo town of the district due to the dry weather and strong winds.

Having spotted the fire, the division and the school mobilized nearly 500 troops to rush to the scene to put out the fire.

They created firebreaks to prevent the fire from further spreading.

The fire is put under control.

On December 9, the fire was put under control. 

* On the same day, 50 troops of Brigade 170 of Naval Region 1 successfully supported local forces and people to fight a blaze in the forest of Ha Tu ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.

The causes of the fires are now under investigation.
