At 17:10 on March 29, the battalion’s commander was informed by Hoa Binh communal authorities of a fire which was breaking out in a eucalyptus forest with a dense flora near Son Dao Mountain in the commune. He was also asked to send troops to help putting out the fire.

Immediately, the unit deployed 25 troops with mobile hand-held tools to rush to the scene to team up with the local firefighters to stamp out the blaze.

Despite difficult terrains, the joint forces did their utmost to get the fire under control at 18:00 the same day, ensuring human and equipment safety.
