Commanding officers of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command visits Le Dai Vy, adopted child of Le Thanh International Border Gate’s Border Post.

Models such as "Adopted children of border posts" and "kitchen of love" maintained by the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command in recent years have not only provided material support for needy children but also truly become a source of spiritual support for these children as they pursue their dreams.

Nguyen Quoc Tinh (15 years old) and Le Dai Vy (13 years old) are two orphaned students from Mook Trel village, Mook Den 2, Ia Dom commune, Duc Co district, facing particularly challenging circumstances. The Border Post of Le Thanh International Border Gate has been providing them with support. Over the past 4 years, this place has become the second home for Tinh and Vy. The unit has provided all the necessities for their life, and on rainy days, the officers and soldiers of the unit take turns to take the children to school.

Major Nguyen Van Thieu, Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization Team at Border Post of Le Thanh International Border Gate, has been assigned the task of caring for the two adopted children of the unit. At the start of the new school year, he dedicated a lot of time to teaching Tinh and Vy. With unconditional love, these "Border guard foster dads" have helped the children quickly adapt to the military environment and become much more confident in life. Major Nguyen Van Thieu shared that he often tells the children that the path to success is through education.

Officers of Le Thanh International Border Gate’s Border Guard Station take the children to school.

Officers and soldiers of the Border Post of Le Thanh International Border Gate accompanied these adopted children with concrete and practical actions. A specialized team has been established to care for these children, with the Deputy Political Commissar of the border post as the team leader. They regularly gather and exchange information with teachers at the school to provide timely support and guidance for the children's learning process. Through understanding, these "Border guard foster dads" have equipped the children with numerous life skills, helping them overcome all hardships to achieve excellent academic results.

Not only do they provide care for underprivileged children, but the troops of the Border Post of Le Thanh International Border Gate have also implemented several programs to support ethnic minority children. Among them, the "Kitchen of Love" model has been maintained by the unit for the past 11 years. Every day, Jrai ethnic minority students in Ia Dom commune receive a nutritious and delicious lunch. The entire funding for this initiative comes from the voluntary contributions of the officers and soldiers of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command.

The "Kitchen of Love" model of the Border Guard of Gia Lai province is an effective model in the border area.

The "Kitchen of Love" and "Adopted children of border posts" models of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command have demonstrated their effectiveness in supporting underprivileged ethnic minority children. These are also good deeds by the border guard personnel to express their gratitude for the support from the local people and authorities.
