Over 1,000 troops help locals overcome flood consequences in Yen Bai
PANO - The Military Region (MR) 2 Command, on August 3, sent more than 1,000 troops to team up with other local forces to search for missing victims and help local people overcome the consequences of recent floods in Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province.
At dawn on August 3, a downpour and flash flood wreaked havoc across Mu Cang Chai with three deaths, seven injured and 13 missing.
The provincial Military Commander, Senior Colonel Pham Hong Chuong, directed the calamity relief efforts. He urged the search and rescue forces to urgently search for those still missing.
Currently, the forces are trying their best to conduct rescue missions and help locals overcome the consequences of the floods in Mu Cang Chai.
