* On December 22, Division 315 under Military Region 5 (MR5) mobilized its troops to Quang Nam province to assist flood-hit victims to overcome calamity consequences, contributing to stabilizing their lives.

In Thang Binh district (Quang Nam province), some 300 troops of Regiment 143, in association with the militia force and youths, helped locals dredge canals and trenches in four communes of Binh Giang, Binh Trieu, Binh Sa and Binh Dao. The floods damaged people’s property. Fortunately, there was no human casualty.

* The same day, Senior Colonel Truong Thien To, Deputy Political Chief of MR5, visited and handed over VND 600 million from the Ministry of National Defense’s fund to flood-hit families in Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province.

* In addition, the delegation of MR5, led by Major General Trinh Dinh Thach, Deputy Commissar of MR5, also visited flood victims in Phu Yen province.

Accordingly, the delegation assisted policy beneficiary Nguyen Xuan Men in building a new house at a cost of VND 50 million and handed over VND 80 million to 6 needy households in Tuy An district. The delegation also presented VND 5 million to Nguyen Thao My’s family (a needy student in Phu Luong village, An Phu commune, Tuy Hoa city), and 143 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to  locals in Phu Yen.

*  Major General Hoang Dang Nhieu, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command led a delegation to hand over VND 500 million to  locals in Phu Yen province. He also applauded the border guard troops for helping locals to overcome the  consequences of the floods.
