MR7 assists Quang Binh and MR4 in overcoming natural disaster consequences
PANO – A mission of the Military Region (MR) 7 Command, led by its Deputy Commander Major General Nguyen Truong Thang, visited and presented gifts to flood-hit people in the Central region on October 30.
The mission included Thai Son Corporation under the Ministry of National Defense, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command, Dong Hai Corporation, Tay Nam (Southwest) Corporation of MR 7, and Cityland Company.
At the event held at the Quang Binh provincial Fatherland Front Committee, military and civilian businesses handed over VND 2 billion to the MR4 Command, the Quang Binh provincial Fatherland Front Committee and provincial Military Command, and the People Committees of Dong Hoi district and Bao Ninh commune.
On behalf of the Military Region 7 Party Committee and Command, General Thang expressed sympathy for the people and troops of MR 4’s armed forces over the losses of human lives and property caused by recent natural disasters.
He emphasized that military units, especially MR4’s armed forces had excellently performed their key role in carrying out missions. The heroic sacrifices of troops when carrying out search and rescue mission at the Rao Trang 3 Hydroelectric Plant in Thua Thien-Hue and helping locals overcome natural disasters at Defense-Economic Mission 377 in Quang Tri province further helped enrich the heroic tradition and noble virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers as well as further consolidate people’s trust in them.
With MR 4’s rich heroic tradition and firm solidarity with people, General Thang affirmed that MR 4’s armed forces and local leaderships of central localities, including Quang Binh province, will soon overcome all consequences caused by the recent natural disasters.
Earlier, the mission laid wreaths and offered incense in commemoration of General Vo Nguyen Giap and paid tribute to late Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 Major General Nguyen Van Man who died in a search and rescue mission for victims at the Rao Trang 3 Hydroelectric Plant. Delegates visited and handed over supplies, worth VND 500 million, to storm affected families in Loc Thuy commune of Le Thuy district and Ham Ninh commune of Quang Ninh district of Quang Binh province.
