Earlier, Tich, 54, had his head injured while working on trawler BD 98291TS. The trawler, with 17 fishermen on board, was steered by Dang Duong, 36, from Lam Trung 1 village.
Receiving the mayday signal, ship 264, which was in action along the Vietnam-Indonesia shared maritime border, took its medical team to provide first aid to the injured fisherman.
After having his wound cleaned and sutured, Tich was injected with antibiotics and painkillers and instructed on how to look after his wound.
As his health is stable, Ship 264’s crew-members returned him to the trawler.
