Naval ship takes troubled serviceman ashore for emergency treatment
PANO - Ship 274 of Brigade 172 under Naval Region 3 Command on April 16 sailed a serviceman on duty in the Hoang Sa (Paracel) waters ashore for treatment.
Earlier, on April 15, non-commissioned Sub-Lieutenant Tran Van Loi, a cipher staff of Brigade 161 of the Naval Region 3 Command had an acute stomachache while undertaking a mission on board Ship 952 at a position about 200 nautical miles from the shore. Being notified of the incident, Ship 274 was tasked to take the rescue mission. At 23:30 the same day, it approached Ship 952, gave first aid to the troubled serviceman, and took the patient ashore for further treatment.
Right after being taken shore, serviceman Tran Van Loi was promptly hospitalized at the Da Nang General Hospital. He was then diagnosed with acute appendicitis.
