Naval Region 4 strengthens activities to support those in need
PANO - Brigade 957 of the Naval Region 4 Command has collaborated with local functional agencies and authorities to inaugurate and hand over two houses to needy families in Cam Thinh Tay commune, Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province.
The event aimed to support needy people in the locality and strengthen the solidarity between troops and people.

The first house, which was built on an area of 56sq.m at a total cost of VND 110 million donated by the Mass Mobilization Board of the Party Committee of Cam Ranh city and the city’s Red Cross Society, was presented to the family of Mang Chuong in Thinh Son hamlet. Troops of Brigade 957 contributed more than 600 working days to complete the house.
The second one built on an area of 35sq.m was handed over to the family of Mang Thanh in Song Can Tay hamlet. This project was built with financial assistance from the brigade and a charity club from Ho Chi Minh City.
Receiving the house, Mang Thanh touchingly said that he used to dream of a spacious house for his wife and children to have a better life. “Today, troops of Brigade 957 have made my dream come true. I thank the unit very much!” said Mr. Thanh.
Over the past time, Brigade 957 has conducted field training in combination with mass mobilization activities in Cam Ranh city. The unit has worked with local authorities to collect rubbish, clean schools, provide health check-ups and medicines for locals, and hold cultural and sports exchanges with local youths. At the cultural exchanges, Brigade 957 presented gifts to needy local families and students. In particular, the Naval Region 4 Command handed over two televisions to the Party Committee of Cam Thinh Tay commune and Cam Thinh Tay Kindergarten.

Deputy Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Cam Thinh Tay commune Thi Chinh highly appreciated Brigade 957’s practical activities. She recalled that troops of Brigade 957 annually organize such activities as presenting houses and gifts and providing health check-ups and medicines, leaving good impression on local people and contributing to easing locals’ difficulties and building strong locality.
Talking about the mission, Commanding Officer of Battalion 5 of Brigade 957 Lieutenant Colonel Tang Ba Hieu said that he is honored to undertake the assignment. Over the past time, the unit has focused on dissemination and education work to enhance troops’ awareness of significance of mass mobilization and law and discipline observance.
