Naval Region 3 Command hands over distressed fishermen at sea
PANO - On August 25, Senior Captain Doan Bao Anh, Second-in-Command of Naval Region 3 Command, chaired the handover of two fishermen in distress in Hoang Sa (Paracel) waters to Son Tra Border Post under the Da Nang city Border Guard Command.
Previously, on August 14, the trawler numbered KH 93159 TS, with Pham Tan Thanh (born in 1965) and Nguyen Luot (born in 1972) from Phuoc Dong commune, Nha Trang city (Khanh Hoa province) on board, departed from Nha Trang to carry Korean technicians to a Korean cargo ship for repairs.

On its return, at 8:00 a.m. on August 18, due to bad weather conditions, the trawler sank at 68 nautical miles South off Tri Ton (Triton) Island. The two fishermen survived on a small boat for several days before being rescued on August 22.
On August 24, the two distressed fishermen were handed over to Ship 952 of Brigade 161 under the Naval Region 3 Command. The two fishermen received health check-ups before being taken to Ship 305 of Naval Region 3 heading ashore.
