Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has made a comeback. The Prime Minister's Directive No.16 on social distancing is being implemented in 19 southern provinces and cities, including seven provinces and cities in MR7. Many socio-economic, defense-security, and foreign affairs activities have also been affected, causing difficulties for the locals.

Therefore, MR7 urged its troops to assist affected local people, considering it a political mission amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the region's armed forces are increasing their combined strength, mobilizing businesses and organizations, and sponsors to help COVID-19 victims.

Particularly, under the directive of the General Staff, units stationed in pandemic hotbeds are to temporarily suspend training activities in order to support the COVID-19-hit people. Furthermore, dissemination of information about COVID-19 has also been promoted in order to improve public’s awareness of the importance of the strict implementation of social distancing and COVID-19 prevention and control measures. Meanwhile, they've also provided free health checkups, sprayed disinfectants in the region, and run “Zero VND” supermarkets, among others.

The MR7’s Party Committee has requested local authorities to continue supporting the people to overcome COVID-19's impacts and combating the pandemic as quickly as possible.
