According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Quang, Political Commissar of Regiment 1, having embraced the situation in the two localities after the recent storms, the unit sent its troops to flood-hit communes to help schools, medical stations, and needy households overcome consequences. Troops were asked to raise their sense of responsibility and exert all out efforts to help locals soon stabilize their lives.

During the recent storm, heavy rains flooded many schools, including Hoa Mai Kindergarten in Kien Giang town of Quang Binh province’s Le Thuy district, and swept away their teaching and learning facilities. After floodwater receded, troops of Regiment 1 of Division 324 under Military Region 4 cooperated with schools’ personnel to clear out mud from classrooms and schoolyards.

Apart from helping local people clean up and repair their houses, Division 324 sent its military medical force to provide free health check-ups and medicines to policy beneficiaries, needy people, and those severely affected by the flooding. The unit also presented gifts to encourage them to overcome difficulties.

The assistance of troops of Division 324 of Military Region 4 left a good impression on people in flood-hit localities of Quang Binh province.
