Visiting Lang village in Son Ha commune, Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa province, we were surprised at positive changes in the village. The landscape has become clean and beautiful with red colors of the Party and national flags floating in the wind.  At the outdoor cultural and sports area, some people were playing volleyball; others were doing exercise with sport equipment.

Troops of Regiment 335 under Division 324 support Xuan Cao commune to build concrete roads.

According to Le Hong Quang, Chairman of the Quan Son district People’s Committee, the outdoor cultural and sports project in Lang village is a military-civilian project supported by MR4. Since the inauguration in January this year, the project has become an ideal place for people to do exercise every day, contributing to raising the quality of the local people’s spiritual life and improve their physical health.

Together with joining hands with local authorities in building new-style rural areas, MR4’s troops have engaged in activities to help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, prevent and overcome consequences of natural disasters and diseases. During the tornado on September 24 last year, thanks to the support of troops and militiamen in Quang Dien district, tornado-hit families and their properties were promptly evacuated to safer places. The troops also helped people repair their houses’ roofs, thereby they could soon stabilize their life.

Implementing the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period and the project on raising the quality and efficiency of mass mobilization work of MR4 in the 2023-2030 period and the following years, every year, thousands of MR4’s troops are mobilized to ethnic minority-inhabited, religious, mountainous, border, and especially difficult areas, to conduct dissemination and mass mobilization work. The units have implemented a number of practical activities to help people build cultural projects and local roads; repair houses, clean the environment, build a system of rural roads and infield canals; organize literary classes and provide free health check-ups and medicines for local people; and give seedlings and breeding animals to people, among others. These activities have contributed to tightening the ties between the military and people, and building a firm people’s heart posture.
