Nghe An provincial border guards evacuate people to safe places

Affected by the storm, heavy rains occurred in mountainous districts in the central province of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, causing landslides in some areas and sweeping away various houses.

The flood claimed one live in Na Chua village, Muong Chanh commune, Muong Lat district, collapsed two houses in Na Hao village, swept away 20 cattle, inundated 6,000 sq.m of ponds and lakes, and ruined over 20ha of rice.

Acknowledging that, the Thanh Hoa provincial Military Command deployed 75 standby troops, 300 militiamen to team up with other forces to evacuate 4,192 households with 17,140 people from risky areas and assisted the victims in surmounting the aftermath of the storm.

Meanwhile, landslides at Doc Cho of Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong district, Nghe An province hindered local transportation while the flood claimed one live and left two missing in Nghe An province.

The Nghe An provincial Military Command ordered 74 troops to evacuate 19 households in Ky Son district to a safe place and joined efforts with other forces to give support to the victims.

At present, Military Region 4 (MR4)’s armed forces are maintaining duty regulations with ready forces and vehicles for any requests.
